Wendyl’s Peppermint Cleaning Paste Review

WENDYL'S PEPPERMINT PASTE

I found this recipe recently on Wendyl's Green Goddess website so I thought I'd try it out.  I watched the video and made it.  I had to add a lot more water to get the consistency she discussed but was pleased with the result.  I was anxious to try it out so I got out my worst cleaning job - the underside of my frypan.  You know how cleaning this gets away on you - especially when a 13 year old boy is doing the dishes - and all of a sudden it's as black as the ace of spades. Yes, I'm embarrassed to show you but hey, at least I'm doing something about it now!

I used a damp cloth and dabbed a little on the pan and then I scrubbed.  I did have to scrub quite hard but I was reasonably pleased with the results as you can see from the photo below.  I did a test and it did a better job than baking soda and my orange cleaner although the orange cleaner left it shinier.  Neither product managed to tackle the nasties on the sides.  

Then I moved onto the bathroom and cleaned the handbasin and the shower door.  The results were good.  

This morning I tried it out on my ceramic stove top.  While the cleaning paste got it nice and clean, I found the residue from the paste a pain as I had to scoop it up (in the video she says you don't get that residue but I did, maybe because I added too much water).  After cleaning the stove top with the paste, it was really clean but really streaky so I tried my eucalyptus spray which usually makes it sparkle. It was still streaky so I cleaned it with the orange cleaner and then the eucalyptus spray again.  For most people this probably wouldn't be a problem but I'm kind of anal about my stove top being shiny.

All in all, I think its well worth trying - probably give it an 8 out of 10.  Try it and let me know what you think.
