Looking for a Partner - Situations Vacant

Have you ever considered becoming a blogger?  I am coming up to my 12th anniversary of being a blogger. Wow! When I think about that, there’s so much that’s happened in that time.

I’ve moved countries twice – first to Canada and then back to New Zealand.

I’ve lived in ten different houses!

My children have grown into wonderful adults.

Like everyone, we’ve had lots of drama but I’ve kept most of it off the blog because I like it to stay positive.

We’ve also had additions to our family and lots of successes and wonderful things happen in our lives.

How It All Started

I first started my blog as a way to keep in touch with friends and family in NewZealand, when I left to live in Canada.  It was exciting at first and those posts were heavy on words and less on images. In fact, my first blog post didn’t have any images.

I blogged about the places we went and what ‘normal’ life was like living in Canada.

Progressive Change

Once life settled down in Canada and Jesse started school, I started to share my gluten free (and other) recipes that I had developed over time. I’ve always had the attitude of, why should you miss out just because you are gluten free. So, when Jenna was diagnosed with IBS in her late teens, it was my mission to create great tasting food for her.  Back then, being gluten free was somewhat of an oddity and information wasn’t readily available like it is today.

When we moved back to New Zealand, the blog went through another change.  I started blogging about the houses we lived in, the projects I was doing and of course, still my recipes.

Life Changing Event

Over the last two years, since I temporarily lost my sight, I’ve had a lot of changes in my life.  I lost my job because of my health, so in June last year we bought Affordable Jewellery Supplies. Our house was overtaken by beads!  Luckily, my family is used to change and has just taken this in their stride.

This major change prompted me to make some decisions about my blog.

My Blog

I decided in August last year that I could go two ways with the blog – I could stop blogging altogether, or I could put my all into it and make it work for me financially.

This was a hard decision.

On the one hand, I love writing and sharing my projects with you, so I really didn’t want to just stop blogging. I also feel a sense of responsibility to continue.

On the other hand, I needed an income and the jewellery store wasn’t providing that yet.

Mentor

It was at that time that I started to think seriously about getting a mentor.  If I was to continue with the blog, then I needed to figure out how to make it work. I signed up for a mentoring programme and I learned sooo much! If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you may have noticed that in August last year I started blogging a lot more regularly and being more considered about my content.

That brings me to today.

When I started the mentor programme I knew that I would need to set myself a deadline to make a decision if it was going to work or not.  Well, that deadline is up.

Before you freak out – I’m not saying that I’m going to stop blogging!

After trying to make it work full time for the last eight months, I’ve decided that I can’t do it alone any more.

That’s why I’m writing this post today!

I know it took a long time to get to the point, but I wanted to explain myself.

I have decided that I would like a blogging partner.

While I love living in New Zealand, there are certain limitations to my blog as a result of this. This could be rectified by the addition of a North American partner - the American market is full of companies wanting to either pay you or give away their stuff to bloggers.

My Ideal Partner

Could this be you?

If you are even remotely interested in working with me on my blog (to become our blog), I would love to hear from you.

It doesn’t matter if you have different interests than me, in fact that might work out great.

You can contact me at carol@livingareallife.com.

Even if there is just the spark of an idea that this might be something you could be interested in, let me know.

We can have a chat and see how we both feel.

So, for my other readers, don’t worry, I’m not going anywhere anytime soon. I still have way too much to say.
