Happy weekend my friend! This week I did my first ever live jewellery workshop for Wardrobe Toolbox which is an amazing online learning space run by Libby Jonson.
This was actually lots of fun but I was very nervous beforehand. It’s so different doing live video work rather than YouTube where you can edit out your mistakes. It went well and it’s inspired me to maybe, just maybe, do some Facebook lives – we’ll see.
This is what I demonstrated during the hour long workshop. Is that something you might be interested - a live workshop?
If so, let me know and we can organise something.
The weather over the last week has been wildly varied with everything from gale force winds to quite warm sunny days.
I mentioned last weekend that there was a severe storm going on. That storm which raged for days, resulted in lots of flooding and people getting evacuated from their homes throughout New Zealand and in our city.
Don’t worry, we were safe. We live on a hill so flooding generally isn’t an issue for us – we just have to worry about landslides pushing us down the hill. I’m just kidding, we are very safe where we live.
A huge thank to you the soldiers and anyone else who helped rescue those who were stranded and is continuing to help with the clean up.
This week I shared one jewellery tutorial and a fun post about whether us Kiwis celebrate Christmas in July.
I really loved making this necklace – it’s big and bold, just how I like it. I used a connector and a metal pendant to make the focal and then a variety of beautiful large beads to finish it off.
It’s a funny question in my mind but one I have been asked on numerous occasions. You’ll have to read the post to find if we do…
Here’s some random things I’ve found this week – no theme, just things that interested me.
Can you imagine the smell in your house while drying oranges? It just sounds wonderful. This post also has a Christmas theme, but I’d share it anyway because I thought it could be translated to an ‘any time of year’ project.
You won’t’ believe what this dresser looked like before its makeover. This one is stunning. Diane did an amazing job.
The idea of having a great room in my home just blows me away. My house is so tiny so when I saw this beautiful room, I just went into dreamland. There are elements of this room that I can duplicate in my own house on a smaller scale. This one will get the inspiration juices flowing, I’m sure. I just love the watery blues and greens used in this room.
Do you like ottomans? I have a large square one in my lounge but I’m not sure I want to keep it. Andy is super attached to it as he loves to put his feet up on it (truth be told, so do I). If you do like ottomans and are looking for a new one, this post is a must read.
Well, that’s all from me this week. I hope you have a super stunning weekend and enjoy the warm summer weather or cool cozy winter days, whichever is appropriate.
Have fun – till next week …
