Can you believe that we are half way through January? For me, it’s been a wonderful week of sunshine. I know that some of you live where it’s rather chilly right now and part of me wishes I was there too (but only as I can’t sleep at night because it’s too hot!).
In New Zealand, lots of people went back to work this week. For us, the weather over the Christmas break was atrocious and of course, the minute they returned to work (my family included) the clouds disappeared and the sun started to shine.
So, I decided this week to ease on in to getting back to work and have taken to sitting under the umbrella in the yard in the afternoons. Having said that, I’ve been working on some jewellery pieces while sitting out there – it’s just been lovely to be enjoying the sunshine.
Isn’t this space amazing to inspire! I love my garden and to be able to make jewellery sitting out there is just so wonderful. I wish it was sunny all year round.
There’s nothing like a cool drink and some shade on a hot day. My drink, by the way, is made up of:
Of course, sometimes this happens when you choose to work outside. Rosie is always around, willing to help (not). All she really helps herself to is copious amounts of patting and the entirety of the sofa!
You may have noticed the amazing tool bag in the foreground of the photo above.
My sister made this gorgeous little tote for me for my birthday last year. It’s perfect for putting my pliers in.
It has a nice sturdy bottom so that it stands up when it’s open.
When you have finished your work you can pull the bottom up and it zips up to store and transport them. Isn’t it amazing! My sister makes all kinds of bags and wallets – I’ve been the lucky recipient of many over the years and they are all just stunning. She’s incredibly talented.
As I said, I’ve been easing myself back into work so this week I shared my top 10 posts for 2020. If you would like to see what my number one post for 2020 was, click here.
I also shared with you my process for packing up and storing Christmas decorations.
I hope that you got some value out of seeing that. I feel really good about my decorations being well organized so I can easily find what I’m looking for next year.
That’s all I’m going to share with you this week.
Next week, I’ll get back into my normal routine of a jewellery tutorial and sharing some of my internet finds, but for this week, it’s a bit more of a casual summer holiday week.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this post.
