Happy weekend my friend! Can you believe it’s almost the end of May?
I’ve had such a busy week with the shop this week that my blog must be feeling a little neglected. Our weather has improved since last week and we’ve had some beautifully sunny, quite hot days – just as I like it. Warm and sunny during the day and cooler at night.
I’ve been doing battle this week with one of my cats, Cheetah, seen here guarding the remote control with one paw while she sleeps. I planted some lovely little Busy Lizzies and she has decided that’s exactly the spot where she needs to do her daily business. Incidentally, the chicken wire that I took the earrings photo on down below was purchased to create a cloche to put over my flowers so she will need to find a different spot.
I caused quite a stir this week posting my pikelet recipe. There were many who had never tried pikelets before – a staple of my life since I was very small. I actually mentioned pikelets last week when I posted my recipe for Ham and Cheese Scones, and I had so many people asked me about them that I just had to share the recipe.
The photo above is a very unflattering shot of Andy stealing the pikelets off the plate while I was adding the toppings and stuffing it in his mouth. Sharing this unflattering photo with you was payback for him not even letting me get them on the plate! LOL.
If you missed this recipe, be sure to check it out and let me know in the comments section below how you go.
This week’s jewellery tutorial was these cute little Flower Bell Earrings.
This is a great project for beginners so why not give them a try.
This week, I’m sharing some random things that I really enjoyed.
I instantly fell in love with this floor – it’s so lovely and seemed pretty easy to recreate. Can you believe that she painted it?
Sigh! Alas, I don’t have any tiled floors in my house.
I was looking for some different projects to make with beads and I found this. I’ve always wanted to make a lampshade with beads so I just might have to do this. If you've looked at this type of chandelier with dreamy eyes thinking they are way beyond your budget, here's your chance to get one for your own home.
I also found this really cute DIY greenhouse. It’s made from old windows! Isn’t this so creative?
I found this incredibly creative solution to the problem of adding country charm to a modern kitchen. You really have to check this one out.
Well, that’s all I have for you this week. Have a fantastic weekend.
