Happy Mother's Day

Here's a Mother's Day Rose for you.  I'm sorry it's a day late but I was too busy having my own (almost) perfect Mother's Day with my family.  So, now I'm wishing you a very happy Mother's Day.  I hope you enjoy this rose picture.  I think it's beautiful.

I had a lovely day with my family.  It started with breakfast in bed - French toast with a cup of peppermint tea.  I was lying there, lazily listening to my book when my daughter arrived with a Wild Bean Hot Chocolate - my favourite - and some lovely Peter Alexander PJs.

We really spent the day just hanging out together.  Andy and Jesse did some work on a little project for me - a spice shelf - which will be ready soon.  It was such a beautiful day, I spent some time in the afternoon sitting in the sun.

So, why wasn't the day perfect? Unfortunately, I got a call from my brother to say that my Mum had a fall and is in hospital - she's broken her other hip.  So, that's why she didn't answer the phone when we rang to say Happy Mother's Day.  She is currently awaiting surgery.  They will know more today about when they can do it so it's just a waiting game until then.  I'll keep you posted.

The day ended with Jenna and I watching one of our favourite TV shows - we used to watch it together all the time but now she lives further away, that's not always possible.  It's kind of our thing and I miss it.
