What are you doing for Easter? I’ve got my family coming for a family dinner, but there’s not much else going on except hopefully some clean-up in the garden. I’m hoping for some rest and relaxation too.
With Easter weekend just around the corner, you might be starting to think about what you will feed everyone, especially if you have guests or family arriving to celebrateEaster with you. I’ve put together some of my favourite quick and easy recipes for you, all in one place, so that you can make up a menu. A good portion of these are gluten free recipes so that will make it even easier, should you need that.
Here goes:
Of course everyone has two things on their mind when it comes to Easter food – chocolate andHot Cross Buns. I created this recipe years ago and I still make it every single year. I usually fill the freezer with these in the weeks leading up to Easter so that my family can take out what they want and heat them up. I’m running a bit late this year as I haven’t even started.
You may remember a few years ago I did a hot cross bun recipe review. Andy says that these Hot Cross Buns are his favourite – he likes them better than the gluten filled ones that I used to make.
Moving into the chocolate theme (not exactly) my other all time favourite recipes to feed the hoards is this chocolate cake that my Mum used to make. If you have a huge group coming, or just want to make a large one so you can freeze half (ice it first) you can double the recipe and make it in a huge meat dish (that’s what Mum used to do). This is an egg-free chocolate cake too!
This chocolate cake is never fail – you will find it super quick and easy to make as well.
If you need this one to be made gluten free, here’s the recipe for this Gluten Free Never Fail Chocolate Cake.

Just before we leave the sweet treats, I have to share this one with you. This is my all time adult ice cream recipe. It’s wonderful and creamy and I’ll be making some this Easter. It’s also a no-churn ice cream so you can make it even if you don’t have an ice cream maker.
In our household, it’s acceptable to eat Hot Cross Buns for breakfast at Easter but if that’s not your jam, then how about these two recipes.
This granola recipe is wonderful – it’s full of fruit and is so tasty. It doesn’t take that long to make as well.
This keto granola is sooo good. Even if you don’t need it to be keto, it’s worth making, just because it’s so tasty.
This is one of my favourite weekend breakfast dishes. There’s nothing quite like eating gluten free pancakes for breakfast – they fill you up so you’re good to go for the rest of the day.
So we can’t live on sweets and breakfast cereal so we need some lunch/dinner recipes. Here’s what I have for you.
I shared this wonderful, quick recipe recently. The reason I love it so much when I’ve got guests is that they are so quick to make, and I’ve generally got everythingI need in the pantry so, if you get unexpected guests, this is your go to.
By the way, this post contains instructions for making these corn fritters gluten free as well as the original recipe.
Self-crusting quiche is another favourite of mine when you need a quick lunch or dinner. You can whip it up in no time and serve it with a salad or vegetables and, you’re done. This is the gluten free recipe but if you don’t need gluten free, just use regular flour.
This is a good recipe to pop on before your guests arrive. You can talk for hours and then serve it when it’s done.
This is another great quick recipe which you can literally make as your guests are arriving.
Who doesn’t love pizza? This one is low carb.
If you like crispy, crunchy coated chicken, then this recipe is for you. It is excellent for dinner and can be served with a side salad or other vegetables. It’s also a great finger food for a party.
Oh gosh, I could go on sharing recipes for ages.
I hope I’ve covered all of your bases no matter what your dietary requirements. For more, gluten free, low carb or just regular recipes, go to the recipes section of my blog. There’s plenty of cookies and snacks as well as meal ideas, and lots of gluten free recipes as well.
Finally, I’d like to say Happy Easter. I hope you have a wonderful holiday weekend, whatever you are doing.
