We arrived in Hamden at my cousin Keith and his wife Holly's house just before they were hosting a large Caroling party. Apparently they do this every year - about 100 people converge on their house and walk the streets singing Carols.
Of course, we were invited and even though it was cold outside, we couldn't refuse. It was an amazing experience, singing to all their neighbours. Some hid away and others came out to enjoy the song.
Very American and very much fun, although our toes were frozen by the time we returned.
When we got back there was hot apple cider (one of my favourites) and hot chocolate and they all gathered around the piano by the fire to sing yet more Carols. There are more photos in the gallery.
