Coffee Sugar Scrub

I don't drink coffee but I do use it on my skin.  Coffee scrub is great for dealing with cellulite and it's also a great wakeup when you use it in the show in the morning.   The oil in the scrub keeps your skin well moisturised as well as nice and smooth.  Try it, you'll never want to live without it.

You can make this scrub in about 5 minutes - it's that easy.

I make a large pot and then transfer some into a small pot to keep in the shower.  Water is not a friend to sugar scrub so make sure you don't let the shower run into the pot.  It will dissolve the sugar and it will be useless (hence the reason I only have a small pot in the shower at one time).

This scrub makes a wonderful gift too.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 3 teaspoons of coarsely ground organic coffee beans
  • 1 tablespoon goats milk powder
  • 3 tablespoons coconut oil (liquid kind)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (optional)

Method:

Put the sugar in a bowl.  Add the coffee and milk powder and give it a good stir.  Mix in the oil with a fork.  I only add the olive oil if I think it's too dry.

You can add mica and fragrance to this scrub - the first time I made it I added strawberry fragrance and red mica which looked great.  The coffee smell overpowered the strawberry which is why I haven't added it here but you can experiment.  The red mica made my shower pink so I decided not to use it again.  You can substitute the coffee for dried orange or lemon rind (or just add it to with the coffee), which is also good for treating cellulite.

Let me know if you make this scrub in the comments section below.
