These beautiful Christmas bauble earrings are such fun to add that Christmas touch to any outfit. Of course, you could make them in any other colour and they would no longer be Christmassy, but I love that they are.
These are super easy, perfect if you’re a beginner, and only take about 15 minutes to make.
Here’s what you will need:
You will also need:
Watch the video or read the instructions below.
Feed the beads onto the headpin in the following order:
Using the chain nose pliers bend the headpin at the top of the beads to make a right angle.
Trim the headpin to within 1cm of the bend using the flush side of your cutters. Remember to hold each end of the wire so it doesn’t fly away.
Place the top of the headpin between the jars of your round nose pliers, making sure that the top is flush with the jaws (doesn’t poke out over the top).
Rotate the pliers away from you until your wrist won’t go any further.
Reposition the pliers so that the loop is on the lower jaw and rotate again until the loop is closed. If necessary, hold the loop with the chain nose pliers and reposition until the headpin is centered under the loop.
Open the loop at the bottom of the earhook by grasping it along the side with the chain nose pliers. Rotate up towards the ceiling. Never open a loop to the side or you will lose the nice round loop.
Place the loop of the earring component onto the loop of the earhook and close then loop by rotating down toward the floor, making sure the loop sits closed. Rotate back and forth with a little pressure if necessary, to get it to sit nice and tight.
To ensure the loops on both earrings are the same, measure where to cut the headpin using the piece you cut off the first earring. Place the earring down on the table. Line up the piece you cut off with the end of the headpin and mark where to cut with a fine tip marker. Cut the wire just before the line. This will ensure you are working with the same amount of wire as you were with the first earring and therefore the loops will be the same size.
Complete the earring in the same manner as the first.
