So, over the last few months I have been an absentee blogger. There have been many reasons for that, one of which was thinking about a new approach for my website and blog, the others are mainly connected with what's been going on in my personal life.

Recently we made a trip to the SPCA to adopt an adult cat. On the way up the driveway I gave the kids (and the husband) a big talk about we were only bringing home ONE ADULT cat.

It was Andy's "big" birthday this weekend. He decided that he should have a dress up superhero party so he invited all his friends to get their best gear on and gather at out house.

The lead up to Christmas got very busy but surprisingly (and somewhat spookily) I was ready a day early!

I went to the doctor about a month ago, frustrated with exasperated symptoms over the last few months.

As I promised earlier today, I got to icing my Christmas Cake so I thought I'd share the recipe with you.

So I learned a valuable lesson on the weekend - you can't make buttercream icing with a dairy substitute. We were having friends over for a barbeque rotisserie chicken and to watch the rugby (NZ has gone mad with rugby because of the Word Cup) so I thought I'd make a cake for dessert.
