Buying IngredientsCooking with my friend the other week started a conversation about where to buy ingredients so I thought I'd let you know where I get some of mine.

I write about all sorts of yummy things I create in the kitchen as well as my little projects, interior design, family, travel and the things I tinker with. I love to get comments on my blog. I'd love to hear from you. Sign up to get updates in your Inbox. I don't post every day so you won't be flooded with emails. Enjoy!

Cooking with a New FriendToday was a truly awesome day. As I'd had to stay in Auckland for the weekend, (work) I borrowed Paul's car and drove way north of Auckland out into the country to visit a new friend (she wishes to remain nameless). This friend works withe me but I actually was corresponding with her while I was in Canada. She is also gluten free and has been having trouble with her gluten free baking. Today we sorted all that out.

New ZealandWell, the secret is out - we are back in New Zealand (well, three of us are, anyway). We decided in November that it was time to return home. We kept it a secret so we could surprise my Mum so everybody who knew had been sworn to secrecy. They did well as Mum didn't find out and I was able to surprise her when I arrived.

New York City!On Tuesday we took the train into New York City. We left the house at around 8.15 and Keith dropped us off at the station in New Haven. The train was 90 minutes and it was a time to snooze and just enjoy the relaxation, and of course people watch the commuters.

New HavenOn Monday, we got up and chilled for a bit. We wanted to make a plan for the following day when we were to catch the train to New York. Also, the fire was going and it was just so nice to sit there and relax. We were all very tired from the long trip the day before.

Caroling in HamdenWe arrived in Hamden at my cousin Keith and his wife Holly's house just before they were hosting a large Caroling party. Apparently they do this every year - about 100 people converge on their house and walk the streets singing Carols.

Driving to HamdenWell, we've lived in Canada for almost 18 months and I must say, we've been really slack - my cousin lives just 8 hours drive away from us in Connecticut and we haven't seen him yet. Sooo, we decided that it was long past time we visited.
