It's Labour Weekend here - we decided to head North out of town on Friday afternoon and stay one night in Parry Sound which is a small town on the edge of one of the many lakes.

Yesterday we went to the Fan Expo - it was amazing. There were heaps and heaps of people there. We arrived at 9.25am for a 10am opening and there were probably about 1,000 people in the queue already. We had pre-purchased our tickets (smart cookies) so we were inside by just after 10.

OK, well I haven't blogged for a few days because I have been so busy shopping. I think Jenna and I have a self-challenge - how many days in a row can we go to Ikea. We've been the last three days in a row.

Yesterday we decided that we would spend the weekend in Toronto. We spent the morning becoming celebrities in Mississauga - our Realtor (as they call them here) asked if Jenna could take some photos of a presentation at the Mississauga City Hall at 10am.

Well, it's been really busy. On Tuesday we went to Toronto and got our first look at the big city. We really enjoyed it but really didn't see that much.

Today we decided it was time to get mobile! We went for another long walk to the car rental place. On the way we passed by a whole street (called Motorway Drive) filled with car sales yards. It was funny. We wandered through and no-one approached us. We had cash in our pockets and would have been very interested in buying a car but obviously these sales people did not want our business. You know how they are in NZ, they pounce on you as soon as you set foot on the lot. We just couldn't believe it. So we continued on our way to the rental place.

This morning I decided that I needed to buy some walking shoes so that I could get out and enjoy the sunshine and the flat, easy walking. Chris dropped us girls (Jenna, Diana and myself) off at the mall – an even bigger one than the last one. We spent 3 hours there and didn’t even see it all. I bought some shoes – good walking/running shoes for $19.97 – do you believe it? Clothes here are so cheap. I also bought a couple of tops as it’s so hot that the wardrobe couldn’t cope!

Saturday morning and Andy and I were up bright and early. Cristina had a doctors appointment so Chris took us for a drive while we were waiting for her.I took these photos of some of the houses so that you can see what they look like. They are really different from NZ houses.
